Production capacities of the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools have activated during the coronavirus epidemic. Within this framework, vocational schools are offdering mass production of different kinds of products varying from cleaning and disinfection productions to masks, from disposal aprons and allovers to face shields.
The mask machine and ventilator design and R&D studies are especially prioritized during this process. Within this context, ultrasonic mask machines are produced in İstanbul while the monthly mask production capacity reached 10 million with the use of these new machines.
Another stage of these efforts was the production of most needed ventilators. The first good news came from the Hatay Şehit Serkan Talan Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School Biomedical Technologies R&D workshops. The ventilator manufactured here is compatible with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Ministry of Health Medical Device Regulation. Following the registration of the new ventilator, mass production will begin immediately.
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said in his speech regarding the subject that production capacities of vocational schools are active during the pandemic. Noting that schools are making mass production in various fields varying from cleaning and disinfection productions to masks, from disposal aprons and allovers to face shields, Özer stated, "We are also coordinating R&D studies for the production of biomedical devices needed in selected cities. We provided important infrastructure support to pilot cities. Vocational education teachers who have been working with great sacrifice in R&D activities provided great support to our efforts."
Noting that first positive results came from İstanbul about the production of the automatic 3 layer ultrasonic surgical mask machine, Özer said, "R&D studies about the production of ventilators were going on successfully in Hatay and İstanbul. The first good news came from Hatay. Studies under the coordination of Regional Directorate of Education in Hataywere completed and they managed to produce their first ventilator. As vocational education, we are very happy to produce most needed machines and serve the public during such period."
Özer stressed the importance of production capacity in vocational and technical education and went on to say, "Within this framework, 3 R&D centers affiliated to our Ministry have been working intensively in İstanbul, Hatay and Bursa. We continue to open R&D centers in some cities which are strong in terms of infrastructure. With the will of Allah, we will share another good news about the ventilator production in İstanbul. The devoted effortdisplayed by our colleagues, administrators and teachers from Hatay is beyond all praise. They had worked night and day in order to provide this good news."
Deputy Minister Mahmut Özer thanked the Provincial Director of National Education in Hatay Kemal Kahraman, Principal of Şehit Serkan Talan Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School Mahmut Birol Gezer and his colleagues and teacher Nurallah Sarı and his team of teachers and students who worked on the project for their contribution and devoted work.
Expressing his gratitude to the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education for their successful coordination during this process, Özer said, "All vocational education teachers and students who have been working with sacrifice under the coordination and support of all of our administratorsin all cities of our country will continue to show that vocational education is the true friend for those who are in need".
