The Ministry of National Education undertook important investments in an effort to increase the production capacity of vocational schools in recent years. With the support of the Ministry, vocational schools produced many products needed as a part of the Covid-19 pandemic measures and started to export abroad for the first time. Within this framework, products of six vocational and technical schools were exported to Bulgaria, Holland, United Kingdom, Czechia, Belgium and France.

As a part of Turkey's measures to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, vocational schools managed to produce many urgently needed products varying from masks to disinfectants, from disposable aprons and allovers to face guards. These schools also succeeded in producing many devices such as ventilators to mask machines.

"Steps taken in an effort to reinforce vocational education yields results"
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said the Ministry is happy to see that steps taken in an effort to reinforce "education-production-employment" cycle of vocational education are yielding results.

"Income earned from the production of vocational schools increased by 100 percent when compared with the figures of 2018 and reached 500 million liras. This increase was achieved although many products which were produced before the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic were not produced in 2020. This revealed our potential."

Özer stated that the vocational schools which made contribution to production of most required products as a part of the Covid-19 pandemic measures, stared to export these products to six different countries in Europe namely Bulgaria, Holland, United Kingdom, Czechia, Belgium and France.

Özer said "Bursa Ali Osman Sönmez Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School exported masks to Bulgaria;  Denizli Osman Aydınlı Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School exported fabric masks to Holland and United Kingdom, İstanbul Küçükköy Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School exported masks to Czechia; İzmir MOPAK Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School exported disinfection machines to Belgium;  Konya Kılıçarslan İMKB Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School exported masks to France and Mersin Çamlıbel Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School exported disposable surgical aprons to Holland."
