TURKEY TOOK OVER THE TERM PRESIDENCY OF TURKIC ACADEMY SCIENCE BOARD FROM AZERBAIJAN

Before the 8th Turkic Council summit which is scheduled to be held in Istanbul on Nov. 12, and will be hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, before 6th Turkic Council Education Ministers' Meeting and 4th International Turkic Academy Science Board Meeting were held in İstanbul.

Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov, Azerbaijani Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Bolotbek Kupeshev Deputy Minister of Uzbekistan Public Education Temurjon Komilov, Turkic Council Secretary-General Baghdad Amreyev, International Turkic Academy head Darkhan Kydyrali and Hungarian Consul General Laszlo Keller attended the meetings hosted by Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer.

Minister Özer held bilateral meetings with guest ministers. Turkey took over the term presidency of the Science Board from Azerbaijan during the 4th International Turkic Academy Science Board.

Making a speech during the takeover ceremony, Minister Özer thanked Azerbaijan for its efforts in introducing Turkic culture, civilization, art and literature to the entire world and reinforcing ties between Turkic Republics.

"Today, we take over this mission. It is an honor for us to fulfill our duty of introducing Turkish civilization to the entire world with scientific studies," said Özer.

Member states discuss ways to boost existing cooperation among themselves during the meetings.  "Sister School Program, Student and Teacher Exchange Programs" were among the other prior subjects of meetings.

Participants of the meeting agreed that exchange programs made an important contribution to cultural and academic cooperation between member states and decided to expand the context of these programs.

In addition to these, activities carried out within the framework of the Union of Turkic Universities under the roof of Turkic Council and preparation of Joint History, Joint Turkic Literature and Geography books which will be published by the Turkic Academy  were other topics discussed during the meeting.
