The "Weaving Atlas of Türkiye" project aims to preserve the weaving culture and keep it alive in its original form by identifying and examining them in detail as well as by cataloging the past and present situations of traditional hand weavings belonging to seven geographical regions in Türkiye.

The project also aims to preserve and keep alive the traditional weaving culture, which is about to disappear, and to transfer the rich cultural heritage to future generations. In the globalizing world, it is aimed to protect and keep local cultures alive and bring them together with universal culture.

Under the headings of "Palace Weavings" and "Anatolian Weavings", fabric weaving called "Shuttle Weaving", which is one of the local weavings produced in Türkiye in the historical process and continues to be produced today, constitutes the scope of the project.

141 samples of 55 textiles were identified within the scope of the project. The scope of Anatolian Weavings was determined under three titles: "Geographically Indicated Weavings", "Local Weavings" and "National Weavings".

It is envisaged that the textiles that receive geographical indication will be produced in accordance with the original and the identification and analysis of the textiles that are deemed suitable for receiving geographical indication will be guided.

Ankara Sofu weaving sample woven at Ankara Maturation Institute, Ehram weaving sample woven at Erzurum Maturation Institute, Dastar weaving sample woven at Muğla Maturation Institute, Gılamık weaving sample woven at Antalya Maturation Institute, Keşan weaving sample woven at Trabzon Maturation Institute, Aladağ weaving sample woven at Adana Maturation Institute and Keyfiye weaving sample woven at the İzmir Maturation Institute are among the weavings in the Weaving Atlas of Türkiye.
