TEACHERS' MEMORIAL FOREST AND MARTYRS' MEMORIAL

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced that the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has allocated 344 thousand and 307 square meter land in Keçiören district of Ankara upon the demand of the Ministry of National Education.
 
Noting that his Ministry plans to plant trees and construct Teacher Martyrs' Memorial to the land, Özer went on to say that, "Our teachers are working with sacrifice in order to continue to support our students even under the hardest conditions in different parts of Türkiye. They actively worked as a part of Vefa Groups during the pandemic. Due to these reasons, our Ministry has decided to honor our teachers with a memorial forest and also construct a memorial for our martyred teachers."
 
Özer said that his Ministry has signed a protocol with the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry concerning planting 80 thousand trees to the allocated land and both forest and memorial will be completed until the beginning of 2022- 2023 school year.
 
Minister Özer said, "I would like to use this opportunity to commemorate all teachers who were martyred while on duty."
