SIGNATURES ARE PUT FOR FOREIGN TRADE VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS

Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) have signed a protocol for the promotion of Foreign Trade Vocational and Technical Anatolia High Schools.
 
Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk said member companies to the Exporters Unions will offer internship and skill training programs for the graduates as well as employment opportunities and scholarships.
 
Noting that his Ministry is involved in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and TIM for raising qualified labor for the development of foreign trade, Selçuk stressed that the protocol will contribute to increasing the quality and quantity of exports.
 
Selçuk stated that the Ministry will continue to take steps in order to respond to the needs and demands of the sector adding that they will continue to work in line with 2023 Education Vision principles.
 
"We will make an effort to increase the professional competence of students"
Stressing that the protocol includes an article for increasing professional competence of students who are enrolled in accounting and finance departments of vocational schools, Minister Selçuk went on to say that: "This protocol will respond to demand for qualified labor, reinforce cooperation between schools and private sector and increase professional competence of teachers".
 
Selçuk noted that exports are an important step in the path to prosperous Turkey adding that foreign trade in the country passed through different various stages since the establishment of the Republic.
 
Selçuk said that a total of 62 thousand and 484 teachers are studying "accounting and financing" in vocational schools while 305 students are getting "foreign trade office services" education in 6 schools located in İstanbul, İzmir, Gaziantep and Mersin.
 
"Teachers will receive in service and practical training programs"
Minister Selçuk said, "This protocol will help us to update education programs and education materials. Workshops and laboratories will be equipped with high technology and respond to practice materials. Member companies to the Exporters Unions will offer internship and skill training programs for the graduates as well as employment opportunities and scholarships.".
 
Selçuk stated at the end of his speech that the protocol is an important step in responding to the demands for qualified labor, increasing Turkey's competitive power and economic development.
