According to the regulation that regulates the principles of assessment and evaluation, the 'exam week' will be implemented in schools. The dates of the exams will be announced at the beginning of the school year.

 

The first exams of the first term in schools will be held in the last week of October and the first week of November. The 2nd exams of the 1st term will be held in the last week of December and the first week of January. 1st exams of the 2nd semester will be held in the last week of March and the first week of April. The second exams of the 2nd semester will be held in the last week of May and the first week of June. The exam dates will be announced by schools on the e-School platform at the beginning of the school year.

 

Joint written exams can be held across the country, province/district and schools. Except for practical exams, it will be essential to conduct joint exams for courses taught in more than one branch to allow teachers to make joint evaluations.

 

The questions of the joint written exams to be held in schools will be prepared according to the subject/question distribution table. The subject question distribution table will be created by the provincial class/field groups and the Directorate of Assessment and Evaluation Center.

 

The Ministry will announce which classes and courses will have common exams at the beginning of the school year. Joint written exams will be administered and evaluated by teachers in schools.

 

The District Directors of National Education Board will decide which classes and courses will be held jointly across the province and district.

 

All exams that will not be held across the country, province or district will be held as joint exams in schools.

 

There will not be any joint exams in classes where intensive education programs are applied in vocational and technical secondary education institutions, in classes where students are sent to vocational education in enterprises and vocational training centers.

 

The academic and social development of students in pre-school and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades in primary school will be constantly monitored. The development levels of the students will be monitored through participation observation forms in individual and group activities carried out under the guidance of the teacher, game-based evaluations and measurement tools aimed at fulfilling the assigned tasks.

 

Thus, the written exam time will not be applied for the 4th grades in primary school. In the 4th grades, the grades of the 4th grade students will be given according to the student development file.

 

Lessons will continue to be given in schools during the exam week.

 

There will be two exams from each course in each semester. Third exam can be held if a decision is made by the provincial class/field groups for the courses with six or more weekly lesson hours.

 

Exam analysis will be carried out after each exam to identify students' deficiencies.

 

The situations of the students who have a lack subject and learning outcome will be re-evaluated by the class teacher and the educational institution class/field groups. Make-up program will be applied for that students.

 

Exams to be held on Turkish, Turkish language and literature and foreign language courses will be conducted as written and applied tests to measure listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

 

In primary schools, specially developed measurement tools will be used to monitor and develop students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in order to improve the correct and beautiful use of Turkish.

 

Short-term exams can be held by teachers at the end of the unitary/theme and/or subject to give feedback to the students. These exams will not be evaluated by grading.

 

With the monitoring and evaluation of academic skills (ABIDE), the level of students' acquiring high-level thinking skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning, and commenting through real-life scenarios will be monitored and evaluated at the provincial level and compared according to years. ABIDE research will be carried out in two-year cycles. A special report will be prepared for each province.

 

In order to protect and develop Turkish, the research, which monitors the development of students in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills acquired throughout the education process, will be conducted in two-year cycles and a country-wide report will be prepared.

 

A "school-based monitoring" research will be conducted in order to see the impact of the teaching programs on the academic outcomes of the students.

 

With this application, the knowledge and skills gained by students in specified courses at specified grade levels will be monitored. Students and teachers will be provided with feedback

 

The development of the country in education will be monitored at an international level through PISA and TIMSS international monitoring researches.

 

"Assessment and Evaluation Centers" established in the provinces under the Directorate General of Measurement and Evaluation will be activated in order to increase the effectiveness of process-oriented measurement, in-class measurement and evaluation studies and to improve the qualifications of teachers.
