Erdoğan said: "Preparations for the 2022-2023 school year which will begin three weeks later on September 12 continue. We have already published and distributed free text books like we did uninterruptedly for 19 years.

 

In addition to textbooks, free supplementary sources will be ready on the desks of students at the beginning of the new school year.

 

Total price of supplementary sources distributed to students for free is 130 million liras. The Ministry of National Education allocated required budgets directly to schools for cleaning supplies, stationary, minor repairs and workshops.

 

We have employed 60,000 new personnel for cleaning services.

 

We have achieved important progress in the 10,000 Schools in Basic Education project and we have allocated 3 billion liras to the project.   

 

We reinforced preschool education after we inaugurated 1,200 new kindergartens and we will complete the construction of 3,000 new kindergartens by the end of this year.

 

Due to this reason, 7,500 of 20,000 newly appointed teachers will be employed in preschool education institutions.

 

Number of books in school libraries increased from 28 million to 75 million and they are ready to play host to students.

 

Approximately 1 million children benefited from science, arts, mathematics and foreign language summer school courses organized by the Ministry of National Education.

 

This summer, we designed a new project and converted closed village schools into village public centers that include primary schools, kindergartens and public education centers.

 

With Allah's permission we will inaugurate 1,500 village public centers until the beginning of the new school year.

 

I would like to give the good news that we have responded to all applications of teachers who asked to be appointed to other cities.   

 

614 thousand and 446 teachers have applied for expert and head teaching positions after we passed the teaching profession law which was a longing for teachers for 60 years. Majority of these teachers have completed required training programs. Approximately 90 thousand teachers who have masters and doctorate degrees are exempt from the examinations.

 

We consider the call for teachers to boycott the examinations as an act of disrespect to the Parliament which is the symbol of the national will.

 

We do not take these efforts which previously assaulted teachers by making discrimination seriously. I wish success to all teachers who will enter expert and head teaching examinations."
