Students of the Yalova TOBB Vocational and Technical Anatolia School which is among the selected schools in the "1000 Schools in Vocational Education Project" are producing annually 750 different varieties of ornamental flowers in Yalova or otherwise known as the "City of Flowers".
Students of the TOBB Vocational and Technical Anatolia School which was founded in 1993 as an "Ornamental Flowers Vocational School" are aiming at developing a new brand for Turkey in their greenhouse.
Both parents and students prefer to enroll in such schools when opportunity differences are eliminated and when sector and industry cooperates with the vocational schools.
Recently, Şehit Sercan Yazar Vocational and Technical School, Çınarcık Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School, Bülent Özyürük Vocational and Technical High School and TOBB Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School from Yalova were included to the "1000 Schools in Vocational Education" project initiated by the Ministry of National Education in order to increase the quality of education in vocational and technical schools and decrease success differences between schools.
Project increased dynamism at schools
Yalova TOBB Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School was founded in 1993 as the first high school specialized in ornamental flowers and responded to 40 percent of Turkey's cut flowers and houseplants. The school cooperates with other institutions and private sector companies in order to have a brand value. The Project has increased the dynamism at school and increased cooperation with the sector.
Other schools selected for the project made an important nationwide contribution in Turkey's struggle against the Covid-19 pandemic and it is believed that vocational high schools will become more popular in the future.
