President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhammedov made an official visit to Ankara with high-level officials on October 25-26, 2023. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed President Berdimuhamedov with an official ceremony.

 

The Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, the Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, the Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Director of Communications  of the Presidency Fahrettin Altun, the Chief Advisor to the President Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç, the Director of Administrative Affairs of the Presidency Metin Kıratlı and the Governor of Ankara Vasip Şahin were also present at the ceremony.

 

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin had a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan responsible for the Education, Science, Health and Sports Complex Nurmuhammet Amannepesov at the Presidential Complex.

 

Educational relations between the two countries were discussed and issues such as sharing Türkiye's experiences in the field of vocational education as well as experiences gained in sports, arts and technology high schools were discussed. 

 

Increasing the number of scholarship students, providing the necessary cooperation to open the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Turkmenistan and popularizing Turkish teaching were other issues discussed during the meeting.

 

An agreement was also reached on the establishment of a joint working group that will create a route in education collaborations.
