Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin visited the photography exhibition "TÜBİTAK from Past to Present" before attending the 60th foundation anniversary ceremony of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).

 

Stating that the working areas of TÜBİTAK, which was founded in the 40th year of the Republic, focused on the areas needed at that time, Minister Yusuf Tekin emphasized that in the 60th anniversary of the institution, it followed a line of progress worthy of its name, shaping itself according to the requirements of the era.

 

Giving a message that they will strengthen the relationship between TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of National Education, Tekin referred to the expression "young and old alike" used in the promotional video of TÜBİTAK Noting that the word "young" there refers to the Ministry, Tekin stated that they will work with TÜBİTAK in terms of spreading both science ethics, scientific culture and scientific study methodology in Türkiye which is the starting point of TÜBİTAK.

 

Minister Tekin underlined that the Ministry is open to any activity and work they can do with TÜBİTAK. Stating that the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan appeared before the public with a very challenging rhetoric on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, Tekin stressed that they believe the next century will be the Century of Türkiye and they make an effort towards this aim. Stating that one of the most basic parameters in the construction of the Turkish Century will be the Ministry of National Education, Minister Tekin stated that the cooperation and studies of the Ministry of National Education with TÜBİTAK will have a very deep and meaningful place in building the Turkish Century on science.

 

Tekin stated that he thanked the staff who brought TÜBİTAK to this day and everyone who is currently on duty and making efforts to move the institution forward.

 

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that TÜBİTAK leads the science and technology ecosystem with its innovative and entrepreneurial approach. Explaining that TÜBİTAK has taken the first steps in the infrastructure of science, technology and R&D ecosystem by strengthening the research capabilities of Türkiye, Kacır stressed that the institution is the flag carrier of the "National Technology Move".

 

Kacır stated that the successful realization of the "National Technology Move" would be possible with a strong, technology-leading and competent industry, to be a developing country rather than consuming technology. Stating that for this reason, they have increased their R&D and innovation capabilities through TÜBİTAK industry support programs, Minister Kacır noted that they have enabled the private sector to embrace R&D culture and develop technology and innovation-oriented projects.

 

The President of TÜBİTAK Hasan Mandal said that for 60 years in the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, TÜBİTAK has been one of the most important institutions that come to mind in the creation of a science, technology and innovation ecosystem. Emphasizing that they know very well the responsibilities of Türkiye as a developed country in the world, Mandal reminded that he also carried out his doctorate and research projects with the support of TÜBİTAK. President Mandal stated that tens of thousands of researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs like him have been in the science, technology and innovation ecosystem in Türkiye over the past 60 years through TÜBİTAK.

 

After the speeches, TÜBİTAK employees and retirees who completed their 25 years at TÜBİTAK were given plaques.
