MINISTER OZER VISITED GALICIA TURKISH MARTYRS CEMETERY IN HUNGARY

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer and his delegation visited the Monument of National Martyrs and the Galicia Turkish Martyrs Cemetery, where the graves of the Ottoman soldiers who were martyred on the Galician front in the First World War are located. After singing the national anthems of Türkiye and Hungary Özer laid a wreath to the cemetery and prayed for martyrs.
 
"The Turkish Nation will stand by its Hungarian brothers"
Signing the special book of cemetery, Özer wrote that he is honored to stand up before the martyrs' due to the glorious struggle they gave in the Galician Front during the First World War. In his writing he stated that they will continue to defend every inch of the land that martyrs have left to them and that the Turkish nation will stand by its Hungarian brothers in the future as it has in the past. Özer ended his note by saying "May your souls rest in peace in heaven."
 
Minister Özer commemorated the martyrs at their graves and left carnations to their graves. Deputy Minister Petek Aşkar, EU and Foreign Relations Director General Hasan Ünsal and Turkey's Ambassador to Budapest Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu accompanied Özer, who visited the cemetery with his wife Nebahat Özer and the delegation accompanied him.
 
Özer also visited Tomb of Gül Baba as part of the Hungary visit
Özer wrote in the tomb diary that he is pleased to visit the Tomb of Gül Baba, who has a great responsibility in transferring national, spiritual and human values to future generations and served with a service mentality that embraces all humanity without discrimination of religion, language or race. Özer stressed that Gül Baba will be a guide to the future generations as he was in the past.
