MINISTER OF NATIONAL EDUCATION TEKİN VISITS THE ACCESSIBILITY FAIR AND AWARENESS SUMMIT

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin attended the 13th Accessibility Fair and Awareness Summit, hosted by the Ministry of Family and Social Services under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
 
During his visit to EYAF EXPO 2023 held at Istanbul Fair Center, Minister Tekin visited the stands and examined the work done.
 
Chatting with disabled individuals and students, Minister Tekin watched the Hacivat Karagöz play and music concert performed by the students.
 
Visiting the stand of the Directorate General of Special Education and Guidance Services in the fair area Minister Tekin examined the products produced by the students studying in special education practice schools. 
 
The studies carried out and materials such as books and brochures prepared by the Directorate General of Special Education and Guidance Services were exhibited at the stand.  Panels were also held regarding the activities carried out within the scope of special education. 
 
Tekin said that he was in an emotional and different mood from the moment he arrived at the fair.
 
Stating that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the representative of a tradition that sees everyone as equal, without any discrimination regarding individuals with disabilities, Minister Tekin expressed that the President instructed them to constantly support this field.
 
Noting that he believes that everyone is created as equal, Tekin stated that some disabilities are visible from the outside, others are not noticed. The Minister invited everyone to be aware of their disabilities and treat them.
 
Wishing that the Accessibility Fair and Awareness Summit would lead to the development of a more responsible, conscious and sensitive attitude among the nation, Tekin thanked everyone who contributed to the organization. Minister Tekin said, "As the Ministry, our greatest asset is our young and trained manpower. Our biggest goal is to increase the opportunity for children to access the quality education they need. With this awareness, we aim to raise the quality of special education services and enable our children in need of special education to move on to higher education by strengthening their adaptation to social life." Noting that they carry out many studies to prepare students and raise productive individuals in their professional fields. Minister underlined that they will continue to work by considering all these studies as conscientious human duty, without any discrimination on the grounds of equity.
