Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev received Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev said during the visit that relations with Turkey in the field of education are flourishing like it is in other fields.
Noting that bilateral relations have reached a top level, Aliyev stressed that both countries cooperate in every field.
President Aliyev said that cooperation in the field of education is important for his country adding that, "We are taking steps and we must take further steps in raising new generations and boosting ties between the youth of both countries. A new term began in our country. We are going through a development period after the Karabakh war. I will present my book about how Armenia harmed our soil. Now, we are preparing plans for liberated cities. Reconstruction of damaged school buildings are among these plans. We are expecting to open schools with my brother Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his planned visit to Şusa."
Noting that they have achieved important reforms in education, Aliyev stated, "Turkey's experience is very important for us. Turkey and Azerbaijan must negotiate suggestions concerning boosting ties between the youth of both countries and increasing the quality of education. We are strong allies and future generations must take steps based on this brotherhood and cooperation. Within this framework, we must organize various different activities such as youth reforms and education programs."
President Aliyev expressed his happiness about the ongoing cooperation between two countries on vocational education and went on to say, "We must establish vocational schools in the liberated territories according to the potential of the location. We are hoping that Turkey will provide support to this project."
Aliyev stated that he gave instructions to include information about the Karabakh war in school books and expressed his wish that the war would be mentioned in the history books in Turkey.
Meanwhile, Minister Ziya Selçuk congratulated Alivey for the Karabakh victory adding that the Turkish people shared the happiness of the Azerbaijani people.
"We will do what is needed in order to develop projects for the future and reinforce education with my Azerbaijani counterpart. We regard instructions as a command. Within this framework, we will initiate a protocol concerning vocational education. Today, we will have further contact. We will do everything needed in order to quicken the process," said Selçuk.
