MINISTER OF NATIONAL EDUCATION SELÇUK MEETS HIS AZERI COUNTERPART AMRULLAYEV

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk and the Education Minister of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic Emin Amrullayev met at the Ministry of National Education headquarters. Ministers made a joint statement after the meeting.
 
Ziya Selçuk said during the meeting, "We are aware that education has a crucial importance in the reconstruction of Karabakh and we will work in an effort to help them improve their education opportunities." Selçuk stressed that Turkey will share its experience in the field of vocational education with its Azeri brothers through the Turkey-Azerbaijan Vocational Education Institute.
 
Minister Ziya Selçuk added that he is honored to host the Azeri delegation headed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov in Turkey within the context of the Turkey and Azerbaijani 9th Mixed Economic Commission Meeting.
 
Meanwhile, Education Minister of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic Emin Amrullayev said after the meeting that new cooperation plans with Turkey in education and other fields will increase in the aftermath of the victory.
 
Selçuk reminded that he had signed the Turkey-Azerbaijan Vocation Education Institute protocol with his counterpart Emin Amrullayev on February 19 under the auspices of Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Vice President Fuat Oktay.  
 
Selçuk went on to say: "Within the context of the Protocol, Turkey-Azerbaijan Vocation Education Institute will give education in five fields namely, information technologies, accommodation and travel services, furniture and interior design and fashion design technologies and we will share our experience with our Azeri brothers. I wish that the protocol will be a blessing for the students of both countries."
 
Turkey will give new generation device and experiment set support to Azerbaijan
Expressing his belief that existing intensive education cooperation between two brother countries will gain a new speed after the assignment of Emin Amrullayev as the Minister of Education, Selçuk went on to say that the main topic of their meeting was stages of cooperation protocol on education between the two countries.
 
Selçuk stated that among the other topics of the meeting were existing status and future position of Baku Turkish Schools which were established in 1993 and student exchange programs.
 
"Moreover, we will send the first samples of the new generation devices and experiment sets which are produced in our vocational schools to the schools in Azerbaijan. Our efforts to improve vocational education and courses will continue," added Selçuk.
 
Victory of Azerbaijan is our pride
Minister Selçuk congratulated his counterpart for the victory of Azerbaijan in Karabakh and conveyed his affection and respect to the entire Azeri people.
 
"Success and victory of Azerbaijan is our pride, the joy of the Azeri people is our joy. We are aware that education has a crucial importance in the reconstruction of Karabakh and we will work in an effort to help them improve their education opportunities," said Selçuk.
 
Stating that Minister Amrullayev will visit the Higher Education Council, Ankara University and other education institutions in Ankara, Selçuk stressed, "I believe that our meetings and cooperation protocols and fellowship of both countries will be permanent."
 
Vocational Education Protocol will provide great benefits for Azeri students
Meanwhile, Minister Amrullayev expressed his gratitude to be in Turkey and exchange views with his counterpart.
 
Stressing that Azerbaijan won a victory as a result of the war that lasted for 44 days,
 
Amrullayev said that new cooperation opportunities with Turkey in education and other fields will emerge in the aftermath of the victory.
 
Amrullayev stated that approximately 23 thousand Azeri students are studying in Turkey adding that the largest group of Azeri students who are studying abroad are in Turkey.
 
Stressing that they have important expectations about the protocol signed on February 19, Amrullayev said that the protocol will provide great benefits for Azeri students in terms of their future in the business sector.
 
"We believe that this protocol will allow more proper establishment of vocational education and education infrastructure," said the Azeri Minister.
