Stating that as the Ministry, they have made every effort to put education into practice quickly, Minister Özer stated that they have gradually normalized education in 10 provinces affected by the earthquake, and they have started education in certain districts in Hatay, where life is normal and the buildings are solid. Özer said that as of March 27, they continued their second term education in 81 provinces in their normal course.

 

Reminding that they left the decision in which districts to start education in the next period, together with the coordinating Ministers, to the Governors who closely follow the process in the field, Özer announced that they will continue to provide all kinds of support for the preparation of students who will take the LGS and YKS exams, with tents, containers, prefabricated schools, and solid buildings without waiting for the governor's decisions.

 

Noting that LGS and YKS preparation courses have been given at over a thousand support and training points since the first day, Özer stated that there are also preparatory courses related to LGS and YKS in the education campus in Adıyaman Beşpınar region, and that teachers have the opportunity to have accommodation and cultural activities.

 

Stating that they built the campus he visited together with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Özer thanked the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the deputies and everyone who contributed. Expressing that he is very happy with the cooperation in the field of education, Özer said that they continue to cooperate with the Ministry of National Defense in Mehmetçik schools, with the Ministry of Interior and the AFAD Presidency in the context of continuing education in tent and container schools. On the other hand, Özer noted they are also in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy regarding the establishment of LGS and YKS preparation courses on a ship sent to Iskenderun. The Minister also underlined that they are experiencing a period when all kinds of cooperation is possible.

 

Announcing that the Ministry of National Education has made an arrangement that allows students in Adıyaman, Malatya, Hatay and Kahramanmaraş to take the YGS exam in their own provinces or in other provinces upon their requests, Özer reminded the previous decision of the ÖSYM Presidency says that YKS will not be held in these four provinces has been revised and announced that the YGS examination will be held in these provinces as well. Underlining that in order to normalize life in the region, they must normalize the processes related to education and central examinations in particular very quickly, Özer emphasized that the President Erdoğan assigned all Ministers to the field, and the state, including deputies and mayors, is on the field with all its resources. Expressing that they are in the process of recovery, Özer said that they will overcome these processes in unit and solidarity.
