INTERNATIONAL TURKIC ACADEMY JOINT TEXTBOOKS WORKSHOP

The Ministry of National Education organized a workshop in İstanbul with the purpose of making the final assessment about the joint Turkic history, geography and literature curriculum and draft textbooks prepared by the International Turkic Academy in line with the decisions taken during the Organization of Turkic States summit. In addition to experts and education ministry officials from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, General Secretary of the Organization Baghdad Amreyev, International Turkic Academy Darhan Kıdıralı and Deputy Minister of National Education Petek Aşkar attended the 3-day workshop.
 
Deputy Minister Aşkar said during her speech at the workshop that the joint Turkic history lesson was included in the curriculum as an elective course for 8th grade students in 2018-2019 school year and the Ministry recently decided to include this lesson to the curriculum of high schools.
 
Aşkar said that decisions that will be taken during the workshop will make an important contribution to the education of the youth of Turkic world.
 
Joint Turkic history, geography and literature education programs and textbooks that will be prepared by the member states under the coordination of the International Turkic Academy will be used in the elective courses in the high schools of member states.
