INTELLECTUAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY MOVE IN VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer noted that the efforts to protect the intellectual and industrial property rights of new products and designs, as well as to raise awareness in schools about the original work of students and teachers in vocational and technical education institutions, which include inventions, have gained momentum.
 
Assessing that as a result of the cooperation with the sector through R&D studies and innovative approaches in vocational education, Özer stated that a major breakthrough has been achieved in registration and commercialization of patent, utility model, trademark and design in vocational high schools.
 
The number of patent, utility model, design and trademark applications have reached 21 thousand 34
Pointing out the importance of promoting the intellectual property culture related to patents, utility models, trademarks and designs for the development of countries, Minister Özer noted that the number of applications made by affiliated institutions reached 21 thousand 34. Announcing that the number of registrations increased to 3 thousand 96. Minister said that in this context, 633 patents, 1 thousand 150 utility models, 17 thousand 940 designs and 1 thousand 311 trademark applications were made. Özer said that among these applications, a total of 3 thousand 96 registrations were received, including 27 patents, 60 utility models, 2 thousand 532 designs and 477 trademarks.
 
Stating that 184 registered products have been commercialized, Minister Özer noted that more than 200 million income has been provided to the revolving fund of vocational and technical education institutions.
