Sharing a post on his social media, Minister Yusuf Tekin, said that the obligatory service exemption, which is frequently asked by teachers during conversation in teachers' room, will be realized as of June 16, 2023. Tekin wished good luck to the people who will benefit from this exemption.

As of June 16, 2023, those who have obligatory service will be deemed to have fulfilled this service by means of the enforcement of the obligatory service exemption.

Minister Tekin stated that the demands of PIKTES teachers, who have tenured and become permanent teachers, for inclusion of their works as part of the project in their service points will also be met. Tekin wished this arrangement to be beneficial to all related teachers.

The necessary regulations on the Amendment of the Regulation on the Appointment and Relocation of Teachers of the Ministry of National Education were published in the Official Gazette and entered into force in order to exempt teachers from obligatory service after Minister Yusuf Tekin's statement.

According to the Regulation, the obligatory services of those who started to work in the Ministry of National Education staff before 16 June 2023, and those who fulfill these obligations in the educational institutions where they are currently working were removed.

By means of this Regulation, the time spent by those who worked as instructors, teachers or guidance teachers in official education institutions as part of the projects carried out for the education and training of the foreign students before being appointed as permanent teachers to the Ministry staff  will also be included in the service points of the teachers.
