November 24 Teachers Day will be celebrated with online activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Director General for Teacher Training and Improvement Adnan Boyacı pointed out that last year Minister of National Ziya Selçuk issued a circular for celebrating Teachers Day not only for a day but during the whole week in 81 cities of the country.
Boyacı stated that Teachers Day celebrations and activities are carried out both in the country and foreign missions in order contribute to the improvement of teaching perception among the public and to increase the motivation and solidarity among teachers adding that the Ministry was careful to organize activities that would be embraced by the teachers.
Recalling that online November 24 Teachers Day activities began on November 16 when the Ministry also started professional improvement program for teachers, Boyacı went on to say:
"Within this framework, we organized the first online Teachers Day Program which includes online music recitals, street interviews, concerts, movies, virtual museum visits, short film, painting, poetry, short stories contests as well as mind games, success stories of teachers who made a difference, interviews with retired teachers and stories about the education lives of teachers. Acting in line with the "Strong Teacher, Strong Future" motto, the Ministry of National Education is on teachers' side not only for a day but all the time. Like Teacher Ziya says education is a team work."
