The MEB Pasaj project is designed in order to boost the capacity of education institutions, turn the learning process into production, support women and people who need special education and introduce our cultural heritage to the world.
As a part of the project, 541 stores of advanced technical schools for girls, vocational and technical schools, public education centers and special education vocational schools are included in the MEB Pasaj system in the PttAVM platform. PTT gave e-trade training programs for all stores and these stores shared approximately 5,000 products in the platform.
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer explained that his Ministry gave education services while working in an effort to increase the quality of human resources and made important investments about education for the last twenty years under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Schools affiliated to the MEB are capable of producing all products it needs
Noting that the Ministry reinforced education, production and employment cycle and they offered vocational education high school students the opportunity to learn while producing, Özer said that employment of graduates of these schools increased and both teachers and students got a share from the income from the sales.
Minister Özer stressed that schools affiliated to the MEB are capable of producing all products it needs and income of these schools which was 200 million TL in 2018 increased to 2 billion TL in the first 11 months of 2022. 100 million TL of this income was distributed to students and 200 million TL was distributed to teachers.
Özer went on to say that: "Vocational high school students responded to the labor market's need for human resources. They also get a share from the income. This will be an important gain for our country in the long run. Covid-19 pandemic showed us that money has no importance if you fail to make production. Due to this reason, we are working in an effort to boost production and employment relations in education. Being aware of this fact, we opened 50 R&D centers in vocational high schools after a ceremony held in the Presidential Complex and attended by our President Erdoğan. Today, the number of these centers exceeded 55. We have seen the results of training programs about intellectual property rights. In the last decade, the average number of products registered by these schools was 2.9 per year. In 2022, we have registered 8,300 products and 162 of these products were commercialized."
Özer stressed that vocational high school students also export their productions and this move will make an important contribution in the long run.
Vocational high schools rapidly increased their production capacity during the Covid-19 pandemic and immediately produced masks, disinfectants, disposable overalls, ventilators and mask machines. This production capacity made an important contribution to the country while coping with the pandemic.
Özer reminded that vocational high schools for people with special needs and advanced technical schools for girls also have important production capacity.
"A new step to increase the production capacity of MEB"
Reminding that the production motivation of the Advanced Technical School for Girls was boosted after the opening of "Bohça" brand in İstanbul İstiklal Street which sells innovative products of these schools, Özer said, "1,000 public education centers are also making production. We are taking a new step in order to increase the production capacity of our schools and institutions. Now, our products will reach the entire Türkiye and abroad through PTTAVM. This will allow us to boost our capacity and production and education cycle."
"MEB Pasaj is a kind of a social responsibility project"
Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said that the electronic trade gained importance in recent years as a result of rapid development of digitalization and consumers can easily reach any product they need at any time by using electronic trade. Karaismailoğlu stated that the MEB Pasaj will make an important contribution to education, production, children with special needs and female employment.
Karaismailoğlu stated, "MEB Pasaj is very important for us and it is a kind of a social responsibility project. The platform will play an important role in providing the opportunity to people to reach the products produced by students with special needs."
"We will not charge commission and cargo fee for 6 months from special education institutions"
Karaismailoğlu went on to say that: "We opened a special section in the
mebpasaj.pttavm.com. We will not charge commission and cargo fee for 6 months from special education institutions. We are happy to take this step which will reinforce employment. Both students and schools will benefit from this project."
