Amended methods and principles concerning increasing the quality of textbooks and other education materials used in formal and non-formal education institutions were published in the Official Gazette dated October 14.

After the amendment of regulation, teachers and expert academicians are carrying out studies based on scientificness, objectivity and transparency of textbooks.

Within this framework, the Ministry activated the digital observation and assessment process.

New system applications are available
The Ministry also updated the observation of textbooks process and developed a new system for panelists during their studies.

The system developed by the Directorate General for Information Technologies, teachers and expert academicians will have online meetings in addition to face-to-face gatherings during the panel process required for the observation of textbooks.

Online panel meeting system is opened for the use of all academicians and teachers of Turkey. Panelist candidates can make their applications by visiting "kitapinceleme.meb.gov.tr" website.

The Board of Education and Discipline affiliated to the Ministry will organize face-to-face or online training programs for the panelist candidates who completed their registration in the database.

The system will provide expert panelists from different cities of the country to get together in an online meeting to observe and assess textbook drafts.

It is expected that the system will provide the opportunity to save time and money during the preparation of textbooks.

Period required to update information and transfer to the textbooks in order to prepare the quality of books which previously took months will be shortened.

Digital education contents will be adapted to textbooks.

Moreover, the Ministry will start a new project for the adaptation of digital education contents to online and face-to-face panel processes according to the new regulation.
