DEPUTY MINISTER SAFRAN AND UNDP RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE VINTON DISCUSS RECENT OUTCOME OF JOINTLY IMPLEMENTED PROJECTS

Deputy Minister of National Education Mustafa Safran and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident President in Turkey Louisa Vinton discussed projects jointly implemented by Directorate General for Lifelong Learning and UNDP namely "Turkey Resilience Project in Response to the Syria Crisis; Turkish Language Training for Adults" and "Increasing Employability for Syrian Refugees and Turkish Host Communities in the Renewable Energy Sector."
 
Wishing success in Louisa Vinton's new post as the UNDP Resident President in Turkey, Safran stated that goals set out as a part of "Turkey Resilience Project in Response to the Syria Crisis; Turkish Language Training for Adults" were achieved and they founded Distance Education Platform which is a distance blended teaching model provided by the Lifelong Training Institutions for the first time in this project.
 
Safran stressed that "Increasing Employability for Syrian Refugees and Turkish Host Communities in the Renewable Energy Sector Project" is extremely important as it responds to local and sustainable economic growth, supports green infrastructure investments, transition to educated labor force from low skilled labor force, reinforcement of local actors' capacity, social development and adaptation.
 
Deputy Minister Safran added that public education center planned to be opened next week in Gaziantep will be an important asset for increasing access to training and education.
 
Meanwhile, UNDP Resident President Vinton expressed his happiness for the achievements in the projects and said she would be glad to see the birth of new business partnerships.
 
The Ministry and UNDP decided to take encouraging steps for the continuation of mutual support in the meeting attended by Director General for Immigration and Education in Cases of Emergency Ece Kızılkaya, Directorate General for R&D and Projects Coordinator Özlem Tengilimoğlu and UNDP Program Deputy Representative Seher Alacacı Arıner.
