The protocol for the Supporting Children Enrolled in Preschool Education was prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Family and Social Services during a ceremony held in Çankaya Mehmet Meto Kindergarten.

Minister Özer said during the ceremony that both ministries signed this important protocol that aims at encouraging accession to preschool education and education is the most important instrument that increases the quality of human resources, important capital of any country.

"For the last 20 years, important steps were taken in education under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.  Our country achieved the schooling rate of developed countries in all levels of education during this period. Schooling rate in preschool education which was 11 percent recently reached 92 percent," stated Özer.

Minister Özer noted that his Ministry has been focusing on increasing accession to preschool education adding that, "All scientific literature reveals that despite its low cost, preschool education has the highest benefit in the long run. Barriers preventing accession to preschool education turned into important problems such as success differences and inequality in education. Due to this reason, we work in an effort to provide quality preschool education and reduce opportunity differences among schools. Within this framework, we initiated a project under the auspices of President Erdoğan's spouse Emine Erdoğan in order to open 3 thousand kindergartens and 40 thousand new preschool classrooms. Till now, we have opened 8,500 new preschool classrooms and reduced the criteria needed to open preschool classrooms in villages from 10 to 5 students."

"We are working in an effort to enroll 1 million children to preschool education institutions"
Noting that he was a child of a family who benefited from the social services provided by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, Özer said, "State will give support to families who enrolled their children to preschool education. Our goal is to enroll 1 million children to preschool education institutions."
