A protocol signing ceremony was held for the construction of 2 schools, each consisting of 16 classrooms, in Hatay and Gaziantep, which were most affected by the earthquake, by the Qatar Charity Association in Türkiye.
Expressing his pleasure in hosting the Qatari delegation at the protocol signing ceremony held at the MEB Head Teacher's Hall, Deputy Minister of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci stated that the relations between Türkiye and Qatar are based on very deep-rooted and solid values. Stating that many brother countries and nations provided Türkiye with great support due to the February 6 earthquakes, Yelkenci stressed that Qatar and Qatari people were one of them. Yelkenci expressed his gratitude to the people of Qatar.
Deputy Minister Yelkenci said, "May God not let any nation experience such a great disaster." Stating that they are here today for the protocol of construction of two schools with 32 classrooms in total, built by the Qatar Charity Association in Türkiye in the earthquake zone, Yelkenci expressed that this is a very valuable contribution for the Ministry of National Education. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Yelkenci thanked Qatar Charity Association on behalf of Minister Yusuf Tekin.
Stating that the Ministry has carried out and continues to carry out many activities in the region by mobilizing all its resources since the moment the earthquake occurred, Yelkenci underlined that in addition to these activities, such aid given by philanthropists and directly touching the children who are the future of today's people is very valuable. On this occasion, Yelkenci thanked Qatar Charity Association in Türkiye, its team, Ministry employees, colleagues and everyone who contributed to the process.
Expressing that they are happy about the schools they will build in the earthquake zone, the CEO of Qatar Charity Association Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari said that they, Qatar Charity, have been trying to make every effort since the first day of the earthquake. Stating that the schools they will build in the earthquake zone are an indicator of the kindness of the Qatari people to the brother Turkish people, Chairman of Qatar Charity Executive Board Sheikh Hamad Nasser J. Al-Thani stated that they hope to come together again for the opening of the school when its construction is completed.
The protocol was signed by Deputy Minister of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci and CEO of Qatar Charity Association Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari.
Director General of Construction and Real Estate Özcan Duman, Director General of Information Technologies Özgür Türk and Chairman of Qatar Charity Executive Board Sheikh Hamad Nasser J. Al-Thani attended the signing ceremony of the protocol.
