Intensive interest to teaching career steps training programs
According to the Teaching Career Steps Exam Schedule, the objection period for the assessment results of the provincial assessment commissions concerning the applications began. Applications started on June 15. Meanwhile, objections will be evaluated until the end of June 21 and finalized on July 5. The Ministry of National Education will announce the list of accepted applications on July 7.
 
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer shared following information about the Teaching Career Steps Training Programs:
 
"603,864 applications have been made to the teaching career steps training programs adding that 533,359 of these applications were made to the expert teaching while remaining 70,505 applications were made to the head teaching training programs. Total of 10,004 teachers from private education institutions applied for the training programs; 280 of these teachers applied for head teaching and 9,724 of them applied for expert teaching training programs."
 
Noting that his Ministry will continue to work in an effort to increase the dignity of teachers in the society, Minister Özer stated, "We will continue to support our teachers in every field. It is our priority to maintain constant professional improvement training programs. Teachers will have the opportunity to move forward in their careers and gain new employee personal rights including pay hike."  
 
Expert teaching training program will take place between July 18 and September 5 while the head teaching training program will begin on July 18 and end on September 19.
 
Teachers will apply for written exams between September 26 and October 3. The Teaching Career Steps Exam will be held on November 19 in all cities of the country. Exam results will be announced on December 12, 2022.
 
Qualified teachers will receive certificates on January 4, 2023 and benefit from compensation salary starting from January 15, 2023.
 
The new law separates teaching professions into three career steps namely, "teacher", "expert teacher" and "head teacher".
 
Teachers who worked at least 10 years in the profession, completed Expert Teacher Training Program and other similar training programs and have a clear record will enter a written examination in order to become an expert teacher. Those who succeed in the exam will get expert teacher certificates.
 
Teachers who worked as an expert teacher at least for 10 years and successfully completed the "Head Teacher Training Program" and other programs required to become head teacher will enter a written examination. Those who get 70 or higher grades will receive the Head Teacher Certificate.
