The third meeting of the Board of Trustees, one of the three expert institutions of the Economic Cooperation Organization and which is based in Turkey, was chaired by the Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk and participated by the General Secretary of ECO Hadi Soleimanpour, President of ECO Education Institute Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akif Kireçci, Minister of Education of Afghanistan Rangina Hamidi, Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Emin Emrullayev, Minister of Education of Iran Mohsen Haji Mirzaee, Pakistani Federal Education and Vocational Training Minister Shafqat Mahmood, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyz Republic Nurlan Omurov, Director General From the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan Yerkebulan Buranbayev, General Secretary of Turkish Council Bağdat Amreyev and Director General of EU and Foreign Affairs affiliated to the Minister of Education of the Turkish Republic Burcu Eyisoy Dalkıran.
Making the keynote speech of the meeting, Minister Selçuk expressed his appreciation to play host to the board of trustees meeting which was organized in order to activate the studies of the institution. Selçuk said, "Our main wish is to increase cooperation between education and training activities of ECO member states. We hope that ECO Education Institute will lay an important cooperation foundation in our region. Our common goal is to make contribution to education, science and culture studies in the region."
After participants accepted the agenda of the meeting, Selçuk called upon his counterparts to speak.
President of ECO Education Institute Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akif KİREÇCİ announced his candidacy to the position again during the meeting and his application was approved by all countries. Board of Trustees meeting continued with the approval of next term's budget and work program. Moreover, participants agreed to hold another meeting about cooperation in education between member states during Covid-19 pandemic, to share best examples and Turkey's experience during this period.
